  • 224th FTU salon theme: Square

Square could be a square format, a city square, a square object, being square ....you get the idea ....Be creative , I know you are

Here's what you have to do:

    1. Either take a picture that matches the nominated theme or select one from your portfolio. You must be the photographer that created the picture in order to enter it.

    2. Upload your entry to your FTU user gallery (all entries must be present in an FTU gallery, which you automatically get if you are registered on the FTU forum), so if you aren't registered, you will need to if you would like to join the fun!)

2b. This also means you can try the brand new and improved gallery!

    3. Use the gallery IMG code or the 'Post New Thread' Advanced Mode 'My Pics' facility to display your picture in a response to this message. If you are having trouble with this, post a message for some help here and we'll gladly assist. It becomes easy after a while!

    4. You can post two pictures, but only two entries per salon, please. If you want to withdraw an entry and replace it with another, that's OK, but you must make it clear in the post containing your replacement picture that this is what you intend doing.

    5. The decision of the curator at the end of the two weeks is final - don't give him or her a hard time about it; this is just a friendly photo challenge, after all!

    6. The person who submitted the chosen picture will assume the responsibility of curator and, as soon as possible, post a message starting a new thread in the FTU Salon board, with details of the new theme. That opening message must include a copy of these instructions, which also double as the rules.

    7. The curator can't enter his or her own salon!

Enjoy yourself and don't take it too seriously, it’s supposed to be fun.

Closing date and time: Wednesday 27 of Sept, Midnight PST

    Good luck.

Tough theme to have content for someone who primarily likes nature photography, nature does circles but abhors squares. Anyway, rather then whine about it or not post here are two rather monochrome square format entries...

OK... won't let me add a second image to the first post or add an image on a new post either. I can't say I like this new format and the fact I can't access all the files I had previously submitted....

My picture was previously published here as a tribute to a friend, that was anything but square.

            Hi everyone.
I know this is not the proper place to ask questions, but I'm facing serious problems in finding all my pictures in my gallery and it's very complicated to get to attach any picture in the posts - obviously since the site changes.

I manage to get to this photo and posted it here for this salon, but I was unable to do it in previous salons.

Is there anything I should have done that i have missed?

            Best regards,
            Rogerio

Re: 224th FTU salon theme: Square

Glad its not just me finding my way around the new software. I can't find a way to post two images in the same reply(or in consecutive posts). The other week I did find my old images but can I now, probably an age thing.

I'm sure that it is just some option that needs changing to allow you to add more than one picture to a thread. Although I note in the last salon there are post with two images on.

                  Oblongs and squares

Think I've partially sussed it. If the gallery is already open on screen you cannot click on "gallery images" in the top bar(well I know what I mean).

I was out for a bit on the weekend and came across an 1850's Grist Mill, which is pre-confederation in Canada (1867). Seeing as I didn't get my second entry in previously thought I would post it here...
