  • 217th FTU Salon Theme: Homely

Since we were on the road, now it's time to rewind, relax, and contemplate things around us, things who help make us feel homely: could easily be your kitchen view, your backyard, your state park, you vacation home, your beach walk, even your workplace ... Everyone has their own idea of being homely, a state of mind anyone/everyone can experience

    Here's what you do:

    1. Either take a picture that matches the nominated theme or select one from your portfolio. You must be the photographer that created the picture in order to enter it.

    2. Upload your entry to your FTU user gallery (all entries must be present in an FTU gallery, which you automatically get if you are registered on the FTU forum), so if you aren't registered, you will need to if you would like to join the fun!)

    3. Use the gallery IMG code or the 'Post New Thread' Advanced Mode 'My Pics' facility to display your picture in a response to this message. If you are having trouble with this, post a message for some help here and we'll gladly assist. It becomes easy after a while!

    4. Only two entries per salon, please. If you want to withdraw an entry and replace it with another, that's OK, but you must make it clear in the post containing your replacement picture that this is what you intend doing.

    5. The decision of the curator at the end of the two weeks is final - don't give him or her a hard time about it; this is just a friendly photo challenge, after all!

    6. The person who submitted the chosen picture will assume the responsibility of curator and, as soon as possible, post a message starting a new thread in the FTU Salon board, with details of the new theme. That opening message must include a copy of these instructions, which also double as the rules.

    7. The curator can't enter his or her own salon!

    8. You can post two pictures.

Enjoy yourself and don't take it too seriously, its supposed to be fun.

Closing date and time: Midnight PST on Tuesday, May 16 2017

I'm not the only one to love the smell of lilacs in the spring...

I donīt know if you are allowed to write a comment in the Salon, but that picture with the lilac and butterfly is really beautiful, Stef.

        Regards

        Bo

Edit. I showed my wife your picture and she asked me to say that the picture is very beautiful, romantic and perfectly framed.

Thanks for the comments Bo. The salon is certainly not a formal competition but meant as a fun way to post some images and seems to get a decent amount of views but not a lot of participation over the past few years.

And I think your wife has excellent taste and a good eye...

                  24 hours service

Every year - the swallows return to the caves in the marble walls at work - breeding and feeding in the 24 hours summer light.
I only which that I could get closer so I didn't have to zoom and crop the image this much.

Lots of 'homely' pics...I really enjoy
AndyM and Kurt's comfort and peace at home
Barrie's soothing sound of the sea
But the prize goes to Bitrix
One first sees a fish but on close observation, one sees a family of birds
                          Wow, that's well done
Bitrix, the ball's on your court (go Warriors!)
                          Cheers,
