  • Who are your favourite Panasonic/Olympus professionals?

Do you follow any photographers who shoot using Olympus or Panasonic (Micro) Four Thirds gear? Who are they and what makes them special?

I like Robin Wong. I think he is very honest, and Gordon Laing from Camera Labs. I watch his VDO's since my Nikon Days. I think he is one how knows what beginners and pro's need. He knows details of his gear and he tests before reviewing.

Aha, Gordon is an old associate of mine - I'll let him know!

Robin has certainly become an established Olympus guru; I only wish I had everyday access to such beautiful things to photograph!

On the other hand, I'm thinking more about professional image makes rather than reviewers.

No, I don't follow any professionals. I love looking and thinking about photos taken by members here and in 2 other forums. I think why I like them, If exif is available I am happy to see what settings are used, sometimes I envy of the places where members have taken there shots, but on the other hand I am happy I have something in my place as well. So that is a giving and taking.

Off Topic: Sometimes I wish there is a section where people post a photo and explained what was there thoughts, what is the story behind, so we can learn how to see things.

Good suggestion - let me think how this can be implemented.

I have to confess that I'm not a great follower of other photographers, even though I actually know some and have met others!

In the UK I know Neil Buchan Grant (Olympus), Edmond Terakopian (Olympus and Panasonic Lumix), Nick Driftwood (Panasonic Lumix), and some others. Tesni Ward is a notable Olympus Visionary. Barry Lategan is another veteran user of Olympus gear although at 84, I understand he is not in very good health these days.

Renowned landscape photographer, Charlie Waite, also uses Olympus gear.

It ought to be mentioned that most of these photographers use other brands of gear as well - use the best equipment to suit he brief!

There are many many more I haven't mentioned - any more suggestions everyone?

I remember when Mark Thackara (Olympus Manager) had various presentations for people like us users of Oly equipment on Four Thirds User and e-group.net.uk and am pleased to have gone into our archive of pictures and found the photographer who discovered Twiggy.
Here is Barry Lategan with Anne in 2008 taken with my E-30.
