I checked out the Forest on Monday and the buttercups are well advanced, as are most things this spring. Hopefully they will still be in profusion for our visit as the flowering period is quite long.

        Those going so far:

        Me,
        Ian,
        Barr1e and Ann1e
        Andym
        Simon (the Saint)
        John & Theresa

Any more will be most welcome, just add your name to this thread.

Of course, Shirley, the more the merrier and it would be great to meet you again. Good luck with that workload, I know what it's like from a friend in the teaching profession.

Re: Hatfield Forest Meet - May

I visited the Forest today (Thursday) and the buttercups are still going strong despite the advanced spring, although it has to be said that the show is not quite so spectacular as in some recent years. I only had half hour to spare but took my Pen and snapped a couple of shots.

Just to prove the buttercups are still flowering.

And to show that at this time of year there is more to the Forest than just buttercups.

There's still time to add your name to the list!

                    Hi John,
I am so sorry but I will not be able to join you. I am very disappointed, as a trip out with friends and a camera would probably do me good right now, but I am afraid it is just not possible.
I hope you have a fabulous day out and I look forward to seeing the pics.

                      Hi Shirley,

Sorry to hear you can't join us, particularly as I know that means you are overwhelmed with work. I hope your weekend is not too stressful or tiring and that you do manage to take a little time out for yourself.

What a fantastic day - sunny conditions with the right amount of warmth, camera in hand accompanied with friends from e-group and fourthirds-user forum.

I don't think I have taken pix of so many buttercups and with that in mind I have chosen to show some alternative images of the day as I'm sure other members will have some to post.

                          N T sign E area

                          Lake sign

Thanks, Barrie, for starting us off.

                            Here's my contribution.

                            Calf enjoying the morning sun.

This cow was remarkably tolerant as I moved in close on my stomach for this shot with the 9-18mm.

                            Too early for breakfast.

                            Slippery when wet.

                            Yellow iris.

                            Photographers at work.

Fun with a fish (Peleng 8mm)

Get down and get with it.

Thanks for a great day - played with the pix until the early hours. Pleased with the results.
