Re: Site modernisation - expect some disruption

My desktop hasn't been online for a couple of years. And reading the stats for my blog as huge percentage of viewers are using phones and tablets. It makes for interesting viewing seeing just how few visitors are using desktops and laptops these days.

Edit. Chrome is used by 70% of visitors, Safari and Internet Explorer have 1% each. And the stats are very similar broken down by OS.

It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

I use my phone for browsing and the laptop for photo editing on a mac/safari. One of my reasons for joining this site, is that it carries useful information about past Panasonic and Leica products. It also has the feel of retro and pioneer about it. I would like it to succeed. I don't say much as I am a new kid on the block. On another site, I am up to 13,604 posts, so the potential is there, but for now I am an observer and a learner, thank you.
      Best wishes
      Phil

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue with my Android tablet and either the stock Samsung browser or Chrome. Is there any chance it's OK at your end now?

Actually it does seem to have cured itself. Part of the problem may be that I only use the phone when the WiFi has slowed to a crawl.

I've found another possible issue. Two of the photos I've uploaded are showing as "My Inactive Images" at the top of the Gallery, My Profile page. I don't know what I did differently uploading them but I was able to post them in a thread after they were uploaded.

You will be pleased to know - NO MORE TINKERING with the forum and gallery for at least a week as I'm off to France for a week off

                    Photos, yes - tinkering, no!

Re: Site modernisation - expect some disruption

There will be disruption to the forum today as we adapt it to run on SSL http (https) security. The forum has a lot of hard-coded urls that need to be manually converted one by one.

Once this work has been completed we can switch to the new latest version of the vBulletin forum software
