I would like to find out how you are getting on with your cameras and to assess areas where you feel the L10 excels and where things can be improved, especially in terms of image quality. If you are interested in providing some feedback, please send me a PM via the link below (you need to be a registered FTU member for this to work).

Not had much feedback so far. I'm meeting with Panasonic next week to discuss the L10's image quality. Feedback about any other Panasonic Lumix cameras in terms of image quality is also welcome - including compacts.

      Re: Calling all L10 users

I own an L10 since last Christmas. Very happy overall. Good features and optimum image quality (RAW). Recently bought a Leica 14-150 super zoom. This is really an excellent all-in-one lens.

Had a chance to compare the L10 to Canon 400D / 40D and Nikon D80.

      Pros:
      > Overal build quality (especially kit lens) if compared to 400D and D80
      > Mega OIS
      > Live view and articulating screen
      > Contrast detect AF
      > Image quality (RAW)

      Cons:
      > Viewfinder !
      > JPG images (a bit soft)
      > Limited options of IS prime lens
      > Panasonic not yet fully established in DSLR's market (post sale support ?)

Would I buy it again ? YES

      Regards

        Re: Calling all L10 users

I have bought an L10 to replace my chunkier L1, but I'm disappointed that Aperture's latest 2.1 upgrade still does not support the L10's RAW and cannot even import the jpegs neither. Adobe's 4.3 RAW already supports the L10. There's no reason for Aperture not to support it. Any help?

          Re: Calling all L10 users

          Hi Ian,
Just joined with an L10 last weekend. So far very impressed with the image quality. Came from Olympus C8080. Like the tilting screen and the liveview. Did not work with raw since I'm waiting for some larger SDHC cards. The Leica 14-50 is wonderfull but I'll also go for the 14-150. Love the overall quality of the camera/lens.

            Re: Calling all L10 users

Just bought an L10 before the holidays. Like it a lot. Using the LV very much. The lens is beatifully sharp and has nice softness in background. Colors good. Shoot only raw but use Facedetection to get sharp faces. Works well,

            kind regards Ben

Play.com is a good place to get flash memory.
              I bought this:
              http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...archtype=genre

should have a L10 next week along with the PL 25mm.

                Re: Calling all L10 users

They should bring it back (as was). The only thing wrong with the camera was Panasonic.

That sounds bad but Panasonic treated it like a Washing Machine. Designed, built, sold - Next!

The L1 (never owned it or even touched it - I'm a spec geek!) was a great camera with Leica Lens (way too expensive for me). Quality. The L1 looked odd I guess like the first FZ's. I have a FZ50 - Love it.

The L10 was an improvement but they (Panasonic) skimpt on the Lens - Harsh to say skimpt on a Leica lens - but they did. I would have been happy with an apature ring - easy to please - A focus scale would be good too - expence!

Anyway, Panasonic seem to go cheep and forget about support (providing accessories, Lenses etc...)

Next we lose the metal mount, then the Leica Lens! Again, I'm not talking/typing about my hands on knowlage of the product just the page spec.

There is no camera like the L10. The E-620 is close but I still think that Panasonic could have got a winner with the L10 the 14-50 lens, a super zoom slightly smaller the the Olympus 70-300mm (60-240/260). Leica An affordable flash...

                Maybe a 12mm fast'ish prim with a 2x converter - possibly 1.4x if we save a f stop

                G series isn't for me - sorry.

Anyway, great site if only I'm a little late in joining

                  Welcome...

I think I must be the only other L10 user out there....?
I tried all the other 4/3 bodies and settled on the L10 - Really excellent... I use it with Olympus and MF lenses as a reportage tool mostly. Usually coupled with the ZD 9-18. It was also astonishingly cheap at close out prices. I sold the leica lens preferring the 14-54. Although a bit 'plasticy' it's still going strong.

                      Question for the L10 users..

Is it a good tool to buy?
I can buy one cheap.. (for 160euro)
I will use it with the PL25...

                      Should I buy it?

Yes, I think for 160 Euros you can't go wrong.
