  • GX7 and wireless remote flash control

Interestingly - I can't see any reference to RC flash control (the Olympus RC system first adopted by the GH3) in the official GX7 specifications tables but I did find RC options in the menus of the pre-production version of the camera I used in Osaka...

As far as I can see, you can read about using the in-camera flash as a remote commander to fire external flashes on pages 224-226 in the advanced user guide.

Re: GX7 and wireless remote flash control

I do wish they wouldn't use the term "Wireless" as that does imply that it uses some sort or radio trigger but as it used a light activated trigger it should be wire less ie no wires, not wireless as in radio waves.

It uses a direct line of sight optical trigger, if it was the more useful "Wireless" the flash unit could be out of sight of the main commander flash.

As it it works but is not as useful as it could have been if it was a true wireless system.
