  • Pen Lite LCD Screen

Has anyone had a play with this new Olympus camera?

I was looking at one in the local camera shop and was impressed by the small size of the camera and it felt good in the hands.

However when I switched it on the image on the LCD was very dull/dark. Now it was inside the shop but like all shops it was well lit, the screen went noticably brighter when I pointed it outside which I found odd.

I also tried out a rival machine and the screen on that was very good inside, bright and easy to see what you were pointing at.

    Was it me?

Or does tha cmaera have some sort of "brightness" control on the LCD screen to make it easier to see inside?

I was already to buy it but the screen dullness stopped me

Just double checked mine - it looks fine to me. There is a wide range of brightness setting available from the Setup menu.

Thanks for that Ian, I bet it had only just come in been opened and stuck on the shelf with a powered up battery.

      Nice piece of kit.

Does it have dynamic brightness on the screen varying with the light?
Fairly simple to do, wonder why more cameras don't do it.
