  • EPL-1 SCN Mode options

    Hi,
Just collected my very own EPL-1 and have been studying the handbook to find out what buttons do what.

    One silly question......

Can anyone help with this, what is the DIS Mode, found in the SCN ( scene )setting and what exactly does it do ?

I can't find anything about it in the handbook only a brief mention on page 17.

Apart from this minor query, I'm looking forward to taking some 'trial' photos soon.

    Many Thanks.

It attempts to reduce blur in photo's
    1 by stabilisation
2 uses higher iso for faster shutter
3 uses max aperture on lens

It stands for Digital Image Stabilization as opposed to IS (Optical/Body Image Stabilization). This mode supposes to optimize ISO, aperture and shutter speed for picture sharpness. I don't know exactly how it work in conjunction with real IS though.

I think this may attempt to analyse subject motion (which can't be compensated for by IS) against camera shake and compensate by boosting ISO to speed up the shutter.
