Not SDHC, because Olympus cameras aren't SD-compatible at all. You usually get the option of Compact Flash (higher-end models and all the DSLRs) and/or xD, which is completely different from SD.

Panasonic Lumix cameras mostly require SD cards and all the current models are SDHC compatible.

uhm, sdhc is a different form of SD card, afaik. and the E-400 only supports CF and xD cards.

I doubt that I'd want to spend out for an 8Gb SanDisk Extreme III, but can anyone tell me what is the largest capacity CompactFlash card that you can use in an E-400?

I have used the Sandisk 4 and 8GB in the E400, I have also used a transend 8GB card.

No problems - I have used 16GB cards (SanDisk Extreme III) on all the recent E-Series models.

It's a good idea to ensure you have the latest firmware if you are using UDMA cards as there is a bug which can cause lost shots using these extra high-speed cards which is fixed in later firmware.

I've been using an 8GB SanDisk Extreme III in an E-330 with no problems.

Sorry - I am specifically referring to the E-410 and E-510 - sorry to disappoint you!

You can, of course, get SD to Compact Flash adapters. I don't know if they will support SDHC cards (above 2GB) though. I have used the Eye-Fi Wireless LAN SD card in a CF adapter in my E-3 and it worked fine

Re: SDHC Memory Cards on e-400 ?

I got this answer from Olympus regarding my 510.

"Theoretically it is compatible up to 32 GB but as we do not make the cards and they are developed continuously by many firms and exist in many speeds, models etc, I have to direct this question to the card manufacturer.

Please go to the website for your preferred brand and here is normally their compatibility list found."

                        At Scandisks website, for example:
                        http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/

Sandisk don't mention the 400 but it's probably the same as the 500.

Since you have used the Eye-Fi card with the E-3, you should post an article about your experience about it...I've seen a few people asking questions about the Eye-Fi with Olympus cameras, and how real time is it, and there are no answers out there.

I can really only say that it just works. I spent ten minutes with it on the compay's booth at PMA back in February. It's not yet available here in Europe, though it is on sale in the USA.

I certainly would like to try it out for longer and if I do get one in to try I will let you know
