I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to discuss this but anyway if its not i ask for it to be relocated

I was doing a usual daily web surfing and stumbled on a G1's review and i was really disappointed in it performance on noise if the tweener's gonna use this sensor i sure hope olympus does a better job ... i compared the E-520's (studio) Iso1600 and the g1's and found the 520's way more pleasant..

Well i'm very new to this world but i have to say i was really expecting better

Which review do you mean? Of course Panasonic and Olympus will utilise the sensor differently - they have different image processing engines, for a start.

L10 and E-520 noise characteristics are different, for example.

          Thanks for link.

I took a quick scan through it and will take a a more thorough look after the doggone election is history, you betcha.

I've been wavering on my feeling about buying one of these. From your comments I thought the review would talk me out of it. Just the opposite happened. This camera may fit my needs and shooting style very well.

Is the reviewer reputable? Ian, do you know him?

Jeff Keller runs dcresouce.com. I haven't met him, but he is well respected by his peers.

I was with Image Resource's Dave Etchells in Japan when we looked at the prototypes and he's very technical.
