Very nice subject Janet. If I could I would have looked for a shallower depth of field, by either using a larger aperture or a longer lens and moving back. That way the cross would gain more emphasis. Hope you are ok with comments and hope I can help.
The exposure also looks to be a bit high since the highlights are a little burned out. But the B&W treatment is terrific for this subject.

Thanks Bill....I'm fine with comments, the more the merrier! Much better than the usual "nice shot" remarks. It's only from getting advice like this that I'll improve my photography. I'll be revisiting this spot shortly, so will take your advice and try and do something about those highlights. It really is something I struggle with at times.
