How did you pick your user name?

For those with less than obvious user names how did you choose it?

I have 2 dogs and had heard of cat food called "Meeow Mix" so that's where the idea came from, 2 dogs a - dog mix and dogs "woof" so "Woofmix"

Simple - there are poultry round here which constantly get under my feet, hence "step hen" with the L added on just for the 'ell of it

Re: How did you pick your user name?

My only grandchild, Ian, calls me Tata. With three sets of grandparents, what to call who was a problem. Especially when his mother's father and step-mother very quickly, and greedilly grabbed Grandma and Grandpa. Her mother and I took Nana and Tata. His father's parents took Nona and Poppa.
Didn't know if an apostrophe would have been accepted so I didn't try, should have at least tried. Then it would be Ian's Tata and it would have avoided a little confusion here.
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Jeff

Re: How did you pick your user name?

Mine simply refers to my location, Wichita, Kansas USA, which the poet Allen Ginsberg (who showed up here occasionally) once christened "the vortex of the nation," and my profession, artist.

Re: How did you pick your user name?

"Bi" is a part of my name. "trix" refers to my younger days as a sailor. I was an electrician in the Norwegian Merchant Navy where this person usually was called "Trixi". I have later discovered that there is a software package with same name, but unfortunately it is not my work

Re: How did you pick your user name?

Mine is very boring, I'm afraid: first initial, last name. It's the same username I try to use for all websites so I don't forget it. Dull, but it works.

As an aside, "schnee" means snow in German (or Yiddish, though it's obviously copied from the German). So people ask if I'm German, but my grandfather was born in Alsace, France. So people ask if I'm French, but my other grandparents were descended from eastern-European Jews. So people ask if I'm Jewish, but my beliefs and meditation practice are more Buddhist than anything else. Then I give them my business card, which reads "Pastor Hal - Photography, Ministry, Music, Meditation." Then people are really confused. I think it's easiest to just show them my photos. Sometimes they're interested enough to look at the rest of my website.
