The Weekly Close Up 2012

Welcome to the Weekly Close up

You'll have to excuse the shots as I'm a bit rusty.

Thanks for looking, good to see you are all doing well

Jim

Not as close but look at those legs, they nearly cover a snap dragon petal

this one is much smaller fitting in the frame at 2-1

Thanks for looking

Re: The Weekly Close Up 2012

Thank you Barr1e, it's good to see you all and be back shooting.

The back and hips have improved since we reduced the company by half and are pretty much semi retired working a day or two a week. I finally dropped the insurance doctor that decided the fact that I smoked meant my lungs were a loss, the new doctor did a few test and found that I have asthma not emphysema and a inhaler once or twice a day does wonders.
On the downside, the hood of the truck slammed on me and opened up my right elbow. I'm still dealing with that one.

I'm glad you like the shots. I hope to try to get the OM 20mm F2 macro out in the field this year.

Rusty?! Goodness knows what that makes me!

Jim - you have done yourself proud and I'm sure everyone here appreciates your work. The last one of the damselfly (?) in flight is stunning.

Re: The Weekly Close Up 2012

Thanks Ian. I'm sure given the same gear that you and many others here could not only keep up with me and probably blow my doors off.
That's the reason I've stuck with Oly gear, if I can do it with the gear we have, so can anyone.

Hehe, I think you are too modest, Jim! Superb shots as usual; it's great to have you back and hear that things are improving - apart from that truck hood closing on you. Hope you recover from that one soon.

Re: The Weekly Close Up 2012

Our dreadful summer here in the UK has put a dampener on insects. But I do feel inspired to dig out a macro lens and extension tubes once agine

John
Thank you but I still think you all are too kind.

Ian

The weather here is messin with my bugs too. They all just up and disappeared when the heat wave hit.

BTW the greatest compliment for me is someone being inspired to shoot macro by my images. Thank you very much.
