I'm in a serious financial situation myself, but although all my money is tied up in photography gear this is how I make my meager living so without that what do I have?
I may find out tomorrow though that I'm going to be homeless... I don't know what I'll do with all my gear then. I only wish I had assets I could liquidate without losing my only source of income.
If I did give up photography (professionally) in order to liquidate, I would still have to hold onto some gear though. I would keep my E-PM1 bodies and collection of legacy glass at least. It's not like that stuff's worth much on the market anyways, and those are the ones which are always with me.
Thank you Ian, an additional tester to give us his viewpoint on different kit, nice to have friends at home and on line...
John is also not too far away from me - about a 40 minute drive, so I'm sure there will be occasions when we can meet up and go place and I'll be more than happy to drive - we need to plan more meets anyway.

Hi Ned -
Anne (Ann1e) and I have replied to John on one of our sister sites regading his plight.
I feel quite sad for your own predicament and I hope matters improve for you soon. I really enjoy your posts, especially the learning side of your many replies of help given to others here.
John I have been admiring your photographs for the last three years now.
You made the E3 work. I am so sorry to hear your plight I will miss you if you go, your comments on the forum have been appreciated my fondest regards John.
What I really, really want, though, is to get back to Scotland, the Lake District, Wales and Ireland and I have to accept that will never happen.
Hi John
Your situation really saddens me and like everyone else on here I would encourage you to hang on to some kit.
If you ever get the chance to get to Drumnadrochit we have a spare room that you can use at no charge and I would gladly take you to the accessible places in the Highlands that I am getting to know.
best wishes to you and your family at a worrying time
Iain

Thanks Barrie.
I don't ever intend on giving up my photography but I may have to do without any studio space for a while, which will make paying bills even more difficult. Catch-22 situation, which could be resolved fine if only I were granted more time.
