Mike, we can meet up as I'm just up the road in Hemel Hempstead. We can go in to London together.

You can help me carry all the gear I'll have for everyone to play with

Ian

Our first location will be the British Museum, after which we can move on to Covent Garden or some of the many nearby open spaces and squares, such as Greys Inn, Lincolns Inn or Russell Square.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING, EITHER BY POSTING ON THIS THREAD OR BY PRIVATE MESSAGE. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY SAID YOU ARE COMMING, PLEASE RE-CONFIRM I look forward to meeting any of you who were on the Woburn Meet again and others for the first time. Members of E-System User Group will, of course, also be most welcome.
Covent Garden is a great place for pictures as there are usually lots of street performers

Re: Day Out - London - 17th May

So far there are seven definites plus a few "maybe's"

there's room for a few more!

It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded photographers, take some great pictures at a fantastic location and, thanks to Ian, try some kit you wouldn't normally have the chance to do!

Waiting to hear from you.....

Re: Day Out - London - 17th May

With excellent timing, I will now be able to bring an E-520 along on the day as I'm picking a sample up today.

I'm hopeful of bringing the superb 14-35 f/2 along, but because there is a dealer event (17th May 2008, London Camera Exchange, Manchester, Piccadilly Plaza, 37 Parker St, Manchester, M1 4AJ, 10am - 4pm, 0161 236 5819, www.lcegroup.co.uk) I may not be able to bring a 8mm fisheye or the 7-14. But I haven't given up hope yet.

I can, if desired, definitely bring any or all of the following:

50-200 SWD (even the original one if necessary)
50 macro
11-22
12-60
14-54
90-250
EC-14 converter
25 pancake
E-420
E-3

If nobody is particularly interested in the 90-250, I might leave that as it's quite big and heavy and may be of limited use in central London?

But if you want me to bring it - I will!

Does anyone intending to come have a lens that is not included here? I'm also going to ask Panasonic Lumix for the 14-150 and 25 f/1.4

Ian

Re: Day Out - London - 17th May

Sorry Folks, Im going to miss this one after all, and I'm more annoyed as I was thinking the E520 might have been the upgrade from my E500.
Ian I have sent you a PM

Hi Ian,

What fantastic news about the E520!

Unless anyone is cruel enough to make you lug it to London, I'd leave the 90-250 at home this time!

The 11-22, 12-60, 14-54, and of course the 14-35 if you can get it, all interest me - and if you can get a spare E3........yes please!

The only lenses I can offer are 40-150 f3.5/4.5 (not a glamorous lens but a solid performer and outstanding value for money) and a manual focus Elicar 90mm f2.5 1:1 macro (equivalent 2:1 on Four Thirds!)

Cheers,

John

Re: Day Out - London - 17th May

@Ian - Just to add to your list Ian, I hope to make it still and would like to see the 420, 25mm and 1.4x if there's room in your bag. You mentioned the 8mm being busy, but if it does become free I would happily help you carry it The 2x would also be a welcome addition if you have one lying around.
Cheers!

See you there everyone.
Phil

Re: Day Out - London - 17th May

I was getting a little concerned about the weather for Saturday, but according to the BBC Weather site, Saturday should be dry in London
