Looks like we'll be off to (hopefully sunny Spain) in early November to play with the new toys .

I wonder about the high resolution pixel shift. Is it still there and is it possible to use handheld?

Yes the E-M1 ii has it and the new TruePIC VIII image processor enables minor detail movements to be filtered out but this more for use with mainly static subjects (like trees, for example) and not really for hand held use. It has also increased to 50 megapixels.

I have a question about the "old" E-M1. I saw a rumor about a new firmware for it. Can he confirm that? It would be nice if they could improve AF a bit on the E-M1 mark i to. I'm planning to buy the mark II and give my mark I to my wife. She would be happy with a little better CAF.

Hi Ian -

It would be interesting if mention was made of the price range they expected it to be when released.

Re: If you think there will be a new OM-D E-M1 announced next week...

There is a full list of specs listed on the Olympus website (www.getolympus.com), along with some photos of the camera and descriptions of new features. And some promotional videos that are obviously advertising, but I'm drooling anyway!

My only disappointment is that some of the new features (e.g. focus bracketing) only seem to work with MFT lenses, not with the older FT lenses. And it's not quite clear from the spec list which flashes are compatible with the wireless system. I certainly hope that my FL50R can be triggered by the little supplied flash.

I'm very excited to find out how well the new AF system works! I'd also like to know how image quality compares using the different shutter options (mechanical, electronic, electronic first-curtain). Those high-speed modes are intriguing.

Anything you can find out about these would be much appreciated, Ian!

Does the new 12-100 lens zoom internally, or does it extend when zooming? And are there plans for more lenses in the PRO series? Perhaps an 80-250 f/4 IS PRO to complement the 12-100?

No prices being talked about yet.

Instability with the post-Brexit pound is probably a key reason. But I have not even seen Euro or Dollar pricing.
