Re: Which zoom-lens to choose? "panas.40-200 OIS" vs "Oly.40-150"
Welcome to the forums.
While I haven`t had any experience with the Oly 40-150 it should be a good lens. I have tried the Panasonic 45-200 with my E-PL1 and been really pleased with the results, the IS works very well, much better than I expected for a relatively budget lens. Ultimately there is no substitute for a good tripod.
I don`t know what the differences are as far as image quality, hopefully someone here may know as I`d be interested myself.
I have the Oly 70-300 four thirds lens with adapter which I`ve been using recently while it is a more expensive lens it is still in the same budget end of the market and again the results are great and I`ve only so for used it on a dull day with high ISO.
The Panasonic lens does feel nice and is very quiet and smooth in operation. I don`t think you`ll be disappointed with it.
The main thing to remember with a telephoto lens is to use higher shutter speeds when hand holding (at the very least match your shutter speed to your focal length to eliminate camera shake). IS will only help so far.
