howdy folks! Anyone rate any of the wide angle converters for video?

Howdy all.

Trust you are all well.

Um.....I have the G6 with a 12-35mm lens with variable ND filter. Looking at doing some wilderness video work.

I am looking at a wide angle converter maybe eg. raynox. anyone had much success with these on video with being good quality?

Would it be silly/ too much to attach the ND filter on top of the wide angle?

Any thoughts or feedback would be ace...

Cheers!

Ro :-)

I've used a SpeedBooster and knock off with wide lens.
If there is enough light, I prefer one of the 7-14 lens.

Thanks Roger :-)

ok - good to know. I have looked at speedbooster (faster lens, wider aperture right?) but cant afford as yet....

I was considering the 7-14mm but need more zoom....so using the 12-35mm with 0.45x occassional wide angle lens shots. good lens - no/ minimal fish eye & good image.....

I also have tried several wide angle converters.
They all had considerable distortion similar to a FishEye lens.
No matter what you put on the end of your 12-35 including filters, there is going to be some degradation.

As for the Lumix 7-14, I've use two copies once each. You could buy mine for $750.
If I need something that wide, I use the vastly superior 14-24 Nikkor on a FullFrame camera. I also have Sigma 4.5 & 8 mm FishEye lens for use at the Monterey Aquarium.

Or, you could just stitch several shots with software.
