Best lens for concerts?

I'm looking for a micro 4/3 lens for use with Panasonic Lumix GF-1, for the purpose of concert photos. It should have a very low f-stop for low-light, and be some kind of telephoto lens. I'm not sure what the ideal focal length would be in theory. Suggestions?

Probably the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro lens, but doesn't have IS as that is "in body" with Olympus cameras.

If you're not too far away from the stage then the 35-100 Panasonic would probably be a good choice.

Re: Best lens for concerts?

Thank you, that's helpful. A slightly less expensive option would also be appreciated, if one exists…

Well, the 45mm 1.8 is as sharp as a razor and inexpensive, it is also very compact.

Another inexpensive option might be the Sigma 60mm 2.8. A little more reach at the expense of a little less speed

awesome. that' more my budget. the 1.8f would be nice, but I'd say I'd need at least 60mm for concert shots. ideally if it's going to be fixed length, it should be closer to 200mm but… i guess there's nothing perfect for the poor. lol

There's plenty of fast manual focus lenses out there. The Samyang/Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 would be my pick. For more reach my Tamron 135mm f/2.5 is very nice despite being 35 years old.

I would still go along with the 45 1.8. Its pin sharp and so very inoftrusive.
