Watch out for hot spots with certain lenses when photographing IR

Thanks to David (Invicta) on the e-group forum for bringing this to my attention. I have written about it on my DPNow blog:

http://dpnow.com/forum2/blog.php?b=375

The idea now is to compile lists of lenses that are prone and not prone to IR hot spots and publish on the Four Thirds User Wiki:

http://fourthirds-user.com/wiki/Infra_red_hot_spots

Please feel free to add lenses to either list, including legacy lenses

Ian

Re: Watch out for hot spots with certain lenses when photographing IR

Have added several lenses to the hot-spot and no-hot-spot lists here:

http://fourthirds-user.com/wiki/Infra_red_hot_spots

The most recent one I added was my old OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.4

There is some suggestion that the host camera body could be a factor as I have had reports that a lens that demonstrated the hot-spot on one camera (Canon DSLRs) didn't on another - which just makes it even more uncertain!
