Re: Lens of the Week - the Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

I got my 14-54 when I bought my first E1 and still have it (and 2 E1's). I've sold most all of my 4/3 equipment including the 50-200, 7-14, E3, etc, but kept the 14-54 and the 50 macro. Use both on my OM-5D, and they both work beautifully. Super fast focus never was high on my list...

Re: Lens of the Week - the Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

Pentax UK came to visit yesterday in order to show me the new K30 DSLR and I reckon that even with a sonic motor lens there isn't much in it when comparing the 14-54 on, say, an E-M5, from a focus speed standpoint.

Re: Lens of the Week - the Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

Planning older photos I found an old one -2007. For general use the 14-54mk1 is my best and most used lens. After five years of use I've found a few dustparticles behind the frontlens. No problem.

Re: Lens of the Week - the Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

I've had this lens since the E1 first became available, and although it's not the sharpest lens in the box, there is a "dreamy" quality to it that I thought contributed to the superb photos of the E1 and reminded me of the Leica lenses I love so much...

Here's another one I took yesterday with the 14-54 on the OM5-D...

Re: Lens of the Week - the Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

A crackingly good lens that can be got s/h for a very good price, it may not be the latest or greatest, but nobody can say it can't perform.
I sold mine when I got the 12-60 but in value for money terms the 14-54 wins(still wont part with the 12-60 though.....)
On some photos with the 14-54 there is an almost 3d depth to the image, or is that just me??

Howi, I agree with you about the 12-60. If I didn't have the 14-54, I would have the 12-60. Maybe after the 75 f1.8 is mine, I'll make the switch...

I too have the 14-54 Mk.1 and it lives permanently on my E3. I love it, it has produced many of my favourite images. A great lens.
