Arrow Panasonic introduces the LUMIX G VARIO 45-150mm

Panasonic has today launched its latest telephoto zoom interchangeable lens for Digital Single Lens Mirrorless LUMIX G cameras, designed specifically for compatibility with the Micro Four Thirds System standard.

Why have they bothered with this lens, they already have the 45-175, it's not an 'X' lens so is this going to be a cheaper alternative?

The new 45-150 is very compact, see:

It should be quite a bit cheaper because there is no expensive electric zoom function compared to the 45-175.

I'd be interested to see how it compares to the mZuiko 40-150mm lens, which I hold in high regard.
