Arrow Full camera RAW and JPEG samples using the new Olympus m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8

Glorious bokeh with the new m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8

Although we were able to get our hands on an engineering sample of the new m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 last month, we have now been able to shoot sample images using lenses that Olympus is content to allow us to publish in full. We have a gallery of camera RAW and JPEG shots for you to download.

Re: Full camera RAW and JPEG samples using the new Olympus m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8

Have you been scratching your head wondering what really differentiates the m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 from the established 45mm f/1.8? The 75mm costs three times as much too. I hope this article goes some way to answer those questions - it's largely down to that great word, bokeh.

Looks like a really lovelly lens. Probably a bit rich for me until matched by some new bodies, but a great commitment to the system / for portrait pros. Definitely on the wish list though.

Thanks for the handy comparison / illustration of the differences too!

Thumbs up Re: Full camera RAW and JPEG samples using the new Olympus m.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8

Having been exceptionally fortunate to get to use one last week, my immediate reaction on seeing the images it produces, was delight.

My "real world" assessment, has left me feeling that this will become a true classic lens, as the image quality is that of the very best of lenses...

Does that have some skin smoothing applied? Hard to tell the sharpness.

I suppose she could have applied a thick layer of foundation. It doesn't really look natural.

Has any sharpening been applied after resizing?

Ian just quickly processed a couple of you raw images in Capture One 6 Pro, must say I am very impressed at the results.
