Ann1e and I made a last minute booking with British Airways and flew off to Lisbon - Portugal to celebrate her **th birthday.

We had similar weather to the UK whilst there, wet and dry - albeit a little warmer. When the sun came out you could understand the saying 'Lisbon light'. I was inspired by Lisbon - well worth going for a few days.
We covered much ground by local bus and train and seeing the 'sights'. A return visit is needed to go inside of what we looked at on the outside (I hope that makes sense).
Monument of the Discoveries This massive angular monument sits on the waterside to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the navigator.

Figures carved out on both sides of the monument.
Torre de Belem - Belem Tower was built as a fortess in 1515-21.

The camera/s clicked many times and I will show a little more of Lisbon in another thread.
All taken with the E-5 - jpegs with various settings in A mode.
