Birthday girl visits Portugal

Ann1e and I made a last minute booking with British Airways and flew off to Lisbon - Portugal to celebrate her **th birthday.
We had similar weather to the UK whilst there, wet and dry - albeit a little warmer. When the sun came out you could understand the saying 'Lisbon light'. I was inspired by Lisbon - well worth going for a few days.

We covered much ground by local bus and train and seeing the 'sights'. A return visit is needed to go inside of what we looked at on the outside (I hope that makes sense).

Monument of the Discoveries This massive angular monument sits on the waterside to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the navigator. Distant view

Figures carved out on both sides of the monument.

Torre de Belem - Belem Tower was built as a fortess in 1515-21.

Looking towards Estoril from Cascais against the light.

...and the machines whose tracks can be seen in the pic above.

The camera/s clicked many times and I will show a little more of Lisbon in another thread.
All taken with the E-5 - jpegs with various settings in A mode.

Re: Birthday girl visits Portugal

Anne doesn't look anywhere near old enough to have a **th birthday!

Portugal looks like a great place to visit, you're fortunate to be relatively close (and to the rest of Europe). Nice pics, the ones from the small camera also. Kind of shows that there is more than just a camera involved in taking photo's. Particularly like your food shot... and the food.

That is what I keep telling her.

Thanks Stef. Across the pond you have so much to see and do - agreed though, Europe is so close now with the tunnel.
Thanks for popping in and commenting.

I have just posted part 2 from the Panasonic TZ30 over on the sister site.
