Re: Olympus E-System fans, this competition is for you!
Great news, Ian!
It's got to be worth a go - and with the simultaneous competition on E-System User Group it gives those of us who use both systems two bites of the cherry!
Personally, I'd be chuffed just to get a picture in the book but someone's got to win. Good luck everyone!

I agree, there are many skilled and talented people around and just getting amongst the chosen is a win by itself.

Sounds like a great opportunity! Just one question about the posted rules, Ian. When they say:
"•It's a condition of entry that the entered photograph may be published in the photo book, however this book is not for commercial profit and there is no claim made on the commercial value, copyright or ownership of entered photographs."
What does this mean as far as usage rights and ownership of the entered photographs? Do we retain ownership? Do FT-U and Olympus only have rights to use the photos in the book, or for other purposes as well?

A touchy subject at the moment, Hal?
It means you definitely retain ownership and copyright of your pictures. Olympus can use those pictures in the book for free. What I'm not sure about is if Olympus are entitled to free use of a picture other than for the purpose of the stated book, for example on a website or in a magazine advert; Ian would need to clarify that. It goes without saying that this forum gets free use, but that's no different to when we post our images for the enjoyment of each other anyway.

David, that question has been asked on E-Group with regard to the Pen competition and Ian is in the process of clarifying this with Olympus. Watch this space!

Goodness me! I didn't think I could really make it any clearer so I will just repeat: "there is no claim made on the commercial value, copyright or ownership of entered photographs"

No, the only imposition is the use of the pictures in the book. The book is not being sold. In fact I believe that the book will only be printed for entrants whose images are featured in it.
If Olympus like your photos and wish to use them for other projects then that's a separate matter.
Re: Olympus E-System fans, this competition is for you!
This is a competition that celebrates the E-System, so there should be either an E-System camera body and/or E-System Zuiko Digital lens used. So a Panasonic or Leica body is OK with ZD lens and an Olympus E-System body with A.N.Other lens is OK. This will be underlined in the rules.
