Re: Shooting wide with the m.Zuiko 12mm f/2.0
No it's not. I've been a member for a long time because I have always been attracted to the format but honestly felt the cameras AA filters let them down and have been following their progress on this site. I have been waiting for the manufacturers to improve on image processing and low light performance. They have, in my opinion, done that.
I was also, as primarily a landscape photographer, waiting for a wide, fast prime of high quality that I could afford. Olympus appears to have given me that. I've been a medium format and 35mm film photographer and have patiently waited for this moment to switch wholeheartedly to digital. I have owned several point and shoot Canon digital cameras, which do perform very well for what they are. They were never considered for my serious photography, although I did shoot a wedding with one with great results; luckily it was all outdoors in perfect conditions and I was doing the shoot for a good friend for free. I would have never used it for a paying job.
My patience has paid off and I believe the new Olympus and Panasonic cameras, along with the new lenses, are exactly what I have been waiting for. Small, beautifully made, high performance and most of all fun, photographic tools. I'm very excited by these new products.
