I use PhotoME, get it free at http://www.photome.de/. It shows quite a lot but unfortunately not the lens designation which is shown in Adobe Bridge. OTOH, it's possible (hindered by some quirks of the program) to edit raw files, I do this sometimes to include data about legacy lenses I have used for the pictures. The program is a beta version but there doesn't seem to be a lot of development going on, it hasn't been upgraded for several months now despite some obvious shortcomings. Oh well...
Many thanks Addieleman. I have just downloaded the program that you suggested and now having tried it, it seems to provide everything that I need. It in fact shows the focal lengths of the lens used for an image as well as the aperture etc.
