Re: Panasonic unveils its new G2 and G10 models early

Regardless of how good it is, it only works with the few Panasonic lenses that include it, which leaves out the majority of FT lenses. I wonder if it's something of a "sacred cow" to Panasonic, because a sensor-shift system makes so much more sense to me for mFT cameras. (I would say for all cameras, but especially for mFT.)

Re: Panasonic unveils its new G2 and G10 models early

Maybe panasonic bodies should have IS, but allow a lens OIS override, so that large teles can get supplemental IS at the cost of a few grams.

For me IS is not as much a deal killer as missing the EAL-button and dial on the EPL1, or lens incompatibilities.

For me EP1 was a 1/2 baked 1st gen time-to-market gadget, forcing an early EP-2 out, and still it's flawed: no built in flash, overpriced, incomplete marketing. I think Olympus is overstretched and it shows in the products, good stuff but with absurd flaws liike epl1 having the flash, showing maybe a ressource/schedule/feature constraint matrix pushing features out.
Panasonic's lineup seem more coherent, or maybe the features they dropped is less visible, like lens AF compatibility.
