Re: Panasonic announces the LUMIX G 20mm / F1.7 ASPH lens

It's worth mentioning that the samples I have uploaded here:

http://fourthirds-user.com/2009/09/s...nic_dmcgf1.php

..are JPEGs only. Panasonic and Olympus do, with their more recent lenses and bodies, implement in-camera corrections when producing JPEGs to control fringing, vignetting, and distortion. RAW files are not corrected. I will add the RAW files for these images shortly, although there is probably nothing available to open them at the moment.

Re: Panasonic announces the LUMIX G 20mm / F1.7 ASPH lens

Since I had the Panasonic G1 I use Adobe Camera Raw 5.4 to open the G1's raw files. Will the GF1's raw files be different then?

I'm really looking forward to see raw files from the 1.7/20 because my G1's raw files look definitely better than the JPEG's straight from the camera.

Yes, GF1 raw files will need an update from Adobe. ACR 5.5 release candidate is already available and does not include the GF1, so there may be a wait until 5.6 is available for GF1 users. Anyway, the camera isn't shipping for several weeks, so it's all rather academic.

Re: Panasonic announces the LUMIX G 20mm / F1.7 ASPH lens

OK, well I'll just have to wait before someone with a G1 or GH1 posts some raw files taken with the 1.7/20. I don't intend to buy the GF1 unless it comes for almost free with the 1.7/20.

Thanks for all the info, nice to get answers so quickly.
