It's simple, the GF1 is designed to be more affordable and the GH1 sensor more expensive than the G1/GF1 sensor. My main disappointment is the lack of stereo microphone for video recording.

Does the optional viewfinder fit the Olympus EP1?

No, the Panasonic finder is proprietary to the GF1.

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 hands on preview

I was really warming to this camera until I discovered that neither the body or the 20mm lens have IS. That is definitely a deal breaker for me, a shame because otherwise it was looking to be the perfect combination.

All the MFT cameras so far have almost, but not quite, hit the mark - and for different resons. It seems to me that if the advantages from each of the cameras could be combined into one model then we'd just about have the perfect specification!

So near, and yet so far.

According to BJP it has 'In Body Optical Stabilisation' which appears to be wrong. I'm not sure IS would offer much in a 20mm f/1.7 lens though.

Still nice, an improvement on the EP-1 in my opinion but still no eye level VF which is probably a deal breaker for me.

There's still more to come from Olympus, they mentioned models above and below the EP-1 so the right one should come along soon.

I might be missing this, but is there any information on prices and release dates. I'm actually most interested in the 45mm macro.

Also, does FTU or mFTU have any plans to do a head to head with the LX-3 that many currently as their in the pocket camera? I volunteer BTW. All I need is a GF-1.

Put the 20 mm 1.7 on an EP1, then You have IS.

John, you nailed it!

The Oly without built-in flash is a deal breaker for me. The Pany without IS is not a consideration.
