Yes, I suspect it has all gone away - don't know why but Ian seems to avoid commenting at all to any thread that mentions the competition. Best advice - forget it and move on, it's not happening.
I do appreciate the frustration of those who entered the competition and understand the concerns expressed over the timescales but I do urge your patience for just a little longer.
Ian is a very busy man who has many responsibilities in addition to this site and sometimes it is unavoidable that timescales have to be adjusted! Within the last week he has posted a list of the 12 finalists for the concurrent competition on E-System User site and I am sure he is doing his utmost to compute the list of finalists for this competition.
Your understanding is appreciated and I'm sure this competition will be brought to a conclusion in the not too distant future; in the meantime please continue to enjoy all the other facilities of this excellent site!

I don't think anyone here under-estimates what Ian has on his plate but we are annoyed at the complete lack of information coming from him. Going by the messages posted and a number of PM's I have received there is considerable goodwill towards Ian but some of this, at least, is being eroded by the the refusal to comment. This is dis-courteous and somewhat out of character. A simple line or two keeping the participants updated with progress, every now and then is all it would take.
