Re: Olympus bolsters E-System with new ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses

Any guesses on the MSRP of the new 12-60? I like the speed, but am a bit afraid of the price as my 14-54 is pretty new. Also, Oly says Nov 2007. Any guesses on which end of November? <G>?

Re: Olympus bolsters E-System with new ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses

According to Popular Photography magazine (in the U.S.), the expected price for the 12-60 is $1000 U.S. Don't know what this would be in the U.K., but for comparison, the existing 14-54 sells here these days in the $430-450 range.

I was afraid of the price too, and $1000 is quite a bit more than I had hoped for.

The list price is £769.99 here in the UK.

Re: Olympus bolsters E-System with new ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses

If so, big ouch. I can't justify that unless I guess I had an E-3 and that's not in my frame either. I'll live with the 14-54 which is every bit as good as I had been led to believe it was. 12-60 would be nice, but the Panleica 25 (at say around $800 deliered) will be more useful. I'd imagine my standard kit will be the Panleica, the Zuiko 50 macro which I adore, the 14-54 and probably since it weighs next to nothing the 40-150. AAnd an FL-36 until I can afford the ringlight.

Hi,

Just checked the pricing on Park Cameras.

They are not giving their discounted prices but what they tin the srp would be.

The E3 body is £1099.99
The E3 body with the 12-60 mm lens is £1669.99

The price of the 12-60 mm lens is 769.99

It makes sense, if you are looking for the E3 and 12-60mm lens to buy the kit which gives a saving on srp of £199.99.

Together with the offers from Olympus for early purchase it is quite compelling. Certainly I am thinking very seriously about it.

Ian,

Thanks for all the hard work you have put in. Your info on this site has been very helpful and simple to digest. I hope you get a chance for a break soon.

It's certainly all go here

I do wonder what the future holds for the 11-22 now that the 12-60 has arrived...
