If we are relating the E-510 specifications to that of the DMC-L10, I think it's fair for Panasonic to pitch their camera at a higher price. Factors include: high quality Leica-branded and stabilised lens (OK, the E-510 has IS built in, but the Leica kit lens is very sophisticated and that brand, whether you personally value it or not, dos command a premium in the market), the most sophisticated Live View system of any DSLR by quite a margin, the articulating screen, bundled eyepiece magnifier and a few other tricks. Whether the differential is right, that's another question, but at least Panasonic has the option of adjusting the price if it needs to.
