Arrow Olympus E-30 analysed

On Four Thirds User we have had a close look at what the new Olympus E-30 brings to the E-system table. The E-30 has some interesting innovations and borrows much from both the flagsip E-3 and affordable E-520 models to fill a gap in the Olympus DSLR line up.

Nice that it uses the HLD-4. Would have been nicer if it were weather sealed.

Re: Olympus E-30 analysed

sounds like the E30 is everything I could want in camera except an SD card slot, this is the only that would hold me back from purchasing this camera, looks like they have added 6:6 aspect ratio and looks like I'll be able to get in camera lomo style effects using the art filters.
*Can I make do with XD and compact flash?*

You can invest in an SD/CF adapter card of course

I think the E30 and G1 cameras have canon and nikon quaking in their boots, as olympus and pansonic are bringing loads of features for photographers to explore their creativity.

Re: Olympus E-30 analysed

I think Oly has done a great job of differentiation.

Ian, have they changed the implementation of live view? Maybe you could explain the sequence of taking a shot in live view?
