Either way, some pretty tasty pics in the final 10 - very nice work finalists

On the other hand, I'm sure many entrants found it useful to get a feel of how well their entry was perceived by their peers. This could be useful in helping decide which of several potential images to use as the final submission. Also, it added interest to the competition and gave all members of the forum the opportunity to participate, even if they did not wish to enter the competition themselves. On the whole ratings and comments posted were constructive and well intentioned, despite a few minor initial misunderstandings.
The position of an image within the Gallery was determined purely by the date on which it was uploaded, the first page always featuring the most recent submissions.
I appreciate that everyone will have their own opinion on what would be the best format for the competition, but there are almost as many permutations as there were entrants! Whatever system was chosen, it would never suit everyone and someone has to make the decision on exactly what the format will be. This is certainly no easy task and I feel Ian and the admin team should be congratulated on the way they have handled this. Having said that, I'm sure they will analyse every aspect of the system before the next major competition and carefully consider the advantages of any potential changes.
As a neutral non-participant with no vested interest I must say I thought the competition was very well managed. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching how it has developed and viewing many fantastic entries of an extremely high standard. I consider it has been a huge success in terms of the quality of entries, the interest it has created in this site and the promotion of the Four Thirds system. Let's have another one next year!
