The 35-100 is optically superb. A review of this lens is coming here soon. It can be used wide open
The 14-35 is in the same league, optically (as is the 90-250), but it also has the advantage of SWD.
Incidentally, the 12-60 lens hood was criticised for being a bit cheap. It is lightweight, but the plastic a strong type. Well, the 14-35's hood is also lightweight, but it is felt-lined (like the 35-100) and has a hatch so you can access and rotate a polarising filter if attached.
77mm polariser - that's going to hurt my wallet!

Yep the filter for the 35-100 hurt my wallet, but what a lens. Looks like the 14-35 will be a great complement for it. Again, thanks for the samples.
Hi, if possible, I would like to know its wide open performance at at 14mm, 17.5mm and 25mm to check the boken peformance and the depth of field effect. I used the f1.4 25mm pana lens and its boken is of particular interest. Although less shadow depth of field as compared with my prevoius full frame Contax C/Y 50mm or 85mm, but the tonal quality of the image plus the nature boken effect give the picture a very nature / movie lens look effect. In weak lighting situation, it could give a very smooth tonal effect that I have not seen from my Contax set.

It's a nice morning here so I will try to take some shots as suggested and will add them to the gallery. Watch this space

Ooops, had a an accident with the card I used this morning, but the sun is forecast again for tomorrow morning, so I will re-shoot the pictures and post during the morning.
This is a gorgeous lump of glass. My dream is to build a three lens system that incorporates the 14-35mm. The wide end would be covered by the 7-14mm and the telephoto end by the 35-100. Sadly, I have none ;-(
For the first time ever, I am considering selling some of my film stuff, and there is always the chance that I may win the 7-14 lens in the 'people' competition (always the optimist)!
Chuck in the 8mm (only because I love fisheye effects) and an EC-20 and the kit bag is complete. I have the 7-14, the 12-60 and the EC-20 and in the last hour I have learnt that my dispute with Spanish customs has been resolved and my 50-200 is on its way after languishing in a customs warehouse for the last 2 months !
Now if only I can find something to sell (film kit all gone) to raise the £1250 necessary I can complete the dream line up with a 150mm f2 - could be a while 'though.

I have now added an additional page of samples in the article, just about as you wished, to explore the bokeh through the zoom range. See:
Thanks for your effort. boken looks nice. Would also be interested to know the boken rendering on portrait shot from 17 to 35mm. I guess at 14mm f2, it cannot produce any real boken effect on the background burr. Hope starting at 17mm and above, it could give some background out focus effect as similar to the Leica 25mm. Its performance for a full height portriat at 35mm f2 would be of real interest for me.
