Thanks, that robin is nearly daily in a appeltree for our kitchen window. From sensor to bird = 3m I think.

Three from the North Carolina Zoo this weekend:

    1. Poison Dart Frog. E-410, Sigma 105 Macro, FL-50R with diffuser; 1/180 @ f/8, ISO 400. Very slight crop.

    2. A bit closer . . . same setup, f/9, no crop. Not sure if it's the same frog.

    3. Eclectus Parrot, male. This is without a doubt one of the best bird portraits I have ever taken. He was posing very close and cooperatively, and I got lucky with focus at the perfect distance. E-410, 50-200 SWD @ 200mm, FL-50R with diffuser; 1/180 @ f/5.6, ISO 400, no crop. Small adjustments in Nik Viveza 2.

I like these really sharp images of this perky Robin. Superb shots.

A tiny tillandsia bloom. There are several now going. No flower yet, just the bract. And I saw my first dragonfly yesterday (There have been a few damsels). It was on the ground and maybe cold as a small anole lizard came over and after a half minute's hesitation grabbed it and carried it off for lunch.

    Dingenus

That is one nice close up of a robin. Much different than the robins we get here.

    Hal

That blue frog is intense. Great shot on the parrot too.

    Steve

Nice flora shot. Can't wait too see the blooms. So far I have seen two flies, a bee and a box elder bug. Nothing to get excited about.

Thanks for sharing everyone, I appreciate the participation.

Re: The Weekly Close Up 1/2011

We might as well keep this one going for a while.

Still not much to shoot, so all I have is flowers still.

    E 5, 50mm/ ec 20/ RF-11

Hope you are having better luck.

Jim, that second one is a fantastic abstract. I love the somewhat muted colors. All are great. Are they the result of the RF-11? How much crop in your shots. I've been using the EC-20/ZD50 combo on the E-PL2 recently and find it a great combo. Adding the RF-11 somewhat overwhelms it though

Re: The Weekly Close Up 1/2011

Thank you Steve. It is a wonderful lens.

I do use the SRF-11 on almost all of my 50mm shots but am constantly adjusting the out put either on the flash or camera body to get what I want.

I almost never crop except for tilt or composition, and that's rarely.

Some day, I'll get a twin flash.

Some more florals as the only bugs I've been seeing have been dead.

Here are a couple of uncropped shots of tillandsia blooms. The tip to tip distance of the biggest yellow bloom is 1/4 inch (6 mm) or a bit less.

Great colors Steve. Those are cool little flowers.

We will get bugs soon enough. ( I hope )
