    Hatfield Forest Meet - May

In my Snowdrops Meet thread on E-System User Group several members have said they would be interested in a meet at Hatfield Forest for the buttercups in May, so here's advance notice:-

    Hatfield Forest

    Saturday 21st May

Meet in car park at main entrance at 10.00am, leave when you've had enough - there is no closing time.

Weather permitting I'll aim to get there at 6.00am for early morning light and other early risers are welcome to join me.

Other arrival times can be easily accomodated.

Car Park fee 4.80, National Trust members free.

There is a cafe in the forest which serves a wide range of hot and cold food.

    More information here

As usual, register your interest below.

I checked out the Forest on Monday and the buttercups are well advanced, as are most things this spring. Hopefully they will still be in profusion for our visit as the flowering period is quite long.

    Those going so far:

    Me,
    Ian,
    Barr1e and Ann1e
    Andym
    Simon (the Saint)
    John & Theresa

Any more will be most welcome, just add your name to this thread.

I would really like to join you but it depends on workload! I will know Thur/ Friday if I dare take the day off!! Is it OK if I leave it as a 'hopefully' and let you know for definite at the end of the week?

Of course, Shirley, the more the merrier and it would be great to meet you again. Good luck with that workload, I know what it's like from a friend in the teaching profession.

Re: Hatfield Forest Meet - May

I visited the Forest today (Thursday) and the buttercups are still going strong despite the advanced spring, although it has to be said that the show is not quite so spectacular as in some recent years. I only had half hour to spare but took my Pen and snapped a couple of shots.

Just to prove the buttercups are still flowering.

And to show that at this time of year there is more to the Forest than just buttercups.

There's still time to add your name to the list!

    Hi John,
I am so sorry but I will not be able to join you. I am very disappointed, as a trip out with friends and a camera would probably do me good right now, but I am afraid it is just not possible.
I hope you have a fabulous day out and I look forward to seeing the pics.
    Shirley
