The Weekly Close Up ...19/2009 POST YOURS
Welcome to the Weekly Closing Up, where the small comes to life.
I have to tell you how impressed I have been, not only with the images but also the replies to each other. Everyone likes to have their images noticed and it makes you want to shoot more.
So what have you for lil ol me?
Lets see it. Tell us how you got it and if you cropped. List any techniques used that may help us improve.

Great image Jim.
I may have something in the can from this morning. I'll look later as I have an errand to run right now.

Thistles around here are dying off in the heat and as they do so they produce a wonderful range of colours and textures that I have tried to capture with my E3 and Yashica ML 55mm f2.8 Macro. All cropped but little else other than some shadow/highlight adjustment.

Bear
Nice series, like Barr1e, I especially like the first one. Until I scrolled down fully, I thought it was going to be a caterpillar.

It's too embarrassing to say how many pix I took of the butterfly this morning. Each time I got near it moved into another position and would not keep still. Even the wind seemed to play its part in not getting that 'close up.
Anyhow, two of one. Hand held.

Barr1e
That's a beautiful butterfly, the colors are wonderful.
I always shoot as I move in and if that's all I can get, at least I got the shots.
Thanks for sharing
