    Advice please

    Hi

    I have recently purchased a Olympus OMD EM10 MK1

I only bought the body 2nd hand off eBay but it is in perfect condition. I then purchased a 14-42mm Zuiko 4/3 lens but it turns out I need a micro 4/3 lens. Can I buy an adapter to make this fit? If so can someone please recommend?

    Thanks

    chris

    Hi Chris,

I'm no expert but yes you do need an adapter to connect a 4/3 lens to a m4/3 body. The olympus adapters are MMF 1, 2, and 3. Three is the weather and dust proofed version. The Oly MMF1 has been on sale for around 65 on Ebay but the others are well over 100 plus. You can also purchase much cheaper third party alternatives on sites such as Ebay but make sure it sates that it is a an Olympus MMF equivalent with electrical contacts to link the lens with the camera's electronics.

I don't know how much the 4/3 lens cost you, but if it's the only 4/3 lens you own, you might want to consider reselling it and buying a M4/3 alternative.

    Hope this helps,

    John

You might try a WTB in the for sale forum. These were given away free by Olympus with some EM1's. Not everyone needs them. I have one but to send from Oz would be too expensive

buy a mFT lens, that’s cheaper than any MMFx and the 3rd party parts a not the best quality.
