    Ruby-throated Hummingbird

A male Ruby-throated Hummingbird sticking its tongue out at the photographer last weekend.

It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

Lovely shot, David - taken three days ago? Do you get this up your way?

They're a summer visitor for us. We only get the one species of Hummingbird. Actually most of Canada only gets the one species. You have to be west of the Rockies to get other species. Taken last Sunday afternoon, 30th of July.

    Hi David -

I'm told they are quite a small bird.

    Nicely taken.

They're smaller than the Wren you'll be familiar with although not much smaller if you include the long bill.
