A Juvenile Koel on a hot day.

It was a hot day! About 42 (Celcius).

Anyhow, here is the juvenile Koel (a migratory type of cuckoo, leaving it's egg in another's nest).

    A crop of the following.

At first it was hard to see at all.

    Hi Ross -

Hmm 42 I agree that is hot. -1 here when I went out first thing this morning.

The Koel looks a pretty big bird and not one to argue with.

I hope it has cooled a little for you.

    Regards. Barr1e

Thanks Barrie. We've had some cooler days since then (thankfully) but are in for 36 & 40 over the next 2 days before a cool change comes through again.

I thought you might like to see an adult male Koel (from December last year) & also these birds are similar in size to the King Parrot but with a longer tail.
