    First lens for Panasonic GH4?

I can only afford 1 lens for my upcoming purchase of the Panasonic GH4... would this one be the ideal option?

Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 Asph. Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black)

    If not which one? Thanks

Yes I think that would be a very good 1st lens.

It really depends on what you photograph. I have the 20mm pancake which I like very much and the 100-300 which is fine for wildlife and certain landscapes, but a very versatile lens which I use most on days out and about is the 14-140mm which gives you a very wide range.

So I would go for the latter as a first lens.

I would go for the 12-35 f2.8 X lens, I have one and can recomend it whole heartedly.
It focuses quite close but if macro is required you can find inexpecive third party extension tubes on ebay for true macro shooting.
Veratile focal length the equivelent of Full Frame 24-70 and a reasonably maximum aperture at f2.8.

You may also want to consider the 14-140 lens.
