Had the same issue after just over 6000 shutter actions. See http://fourthirds-user.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11849
It failed when I used the camera together with TriggerTrap to experiment with time lap photography.

The website for user submitted shutter data is http://www.olegkikin.com/shutterlife oddly there is no data for the E-5.

I bought an E5 from KEH which they advertised as excellent condition. I just checked the shutter count and got a number of 132,535 and it seems to be working fine.

She seems to have had a busy life.

I assume it came with a guarantee?

I had an E-5 which gave me some pretty good results, I hope you enjoy yours.

Re: E-5 (or E-3) Shutter Life

I sold both of my E-3 and E-5 about six months ago. The E-3 clocks 42.8K and the E-5 clocks 34K; have not heard complaints from the buyers so far.
