Olympus must still be sitting on large piles of them and see no chance of making an money on them. Sorry for the cynicism.

I think you are right, but so what? It's great news for 50 E-1 users

They could simply have crushed them...

NO, I object, the Netherlands should be considered as middle (or possible middle east) UK. Far east UK should be Sweden.

Nothing ever comes here from UK except the rain and the winds... ...and Oly Sweden is dry of freebies as the Kalahari Desert is of rain.

I agree. I really have to say that I am very pleased with the after sales service Olympus offers and how they support products they sold years ago. I still hold Olympus in high esteem for giving Master 2 away free of charge. It is my favorite RAW converter for when I need results quickly (e.g. converting 500 files while me having coffee ) I consider this, every time I buy something and might swing me to buying an Olympus product if everything else is close. I think they are good guys aiming at customer satisfaction.

So instead of crushing these, they now (potentially) make 50 users happier.
    enjoy

If the bat.grip is UK readers only then one could argue that it would only be fair ofcourse that the lens then goes to the other enthusiasts..

Honestly, you can keep the lens. I would prefer an E-1. It would be great to be able to test that famous camera, the first E-system. So, if Oly UK dumps all the grips in UK, Ian dumps a lens to the the winner from Central UK (The Netherlands) than hopefully, if Oly digs deep enough in the warehouse, maybe they find an unshipped box with an E-1 in it which they use as a door stopper, now that the E-3 is here and the E-1 is no longer sale-able. That box can be shipped to East UK (Sweden).
