Cool The FTU Knowledge Base Wiki is open for business!

In the last three weeks we have bee busily constructing a brand new FTU Wiki to replace the old one that fell into disrepair. The aim of the Four Thirds User Knowledge Base Wiki is to become THE knowledge base for Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds information.

    You can find it here:

    http://fourthirds-user.com/wiki/Main_Page

The new wiki already has well over 100 pages of content and we hope it will grow steadily. And I very much hope that some of you will join the small band of volunteers who have helped in the creation of the new wiki - after all that is what wikis are all about; we welcome editorial contributions from anyone interested in Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds

Unfortunately, because there are plenty of unscrupulous people out there that seem intent on spamming the wiki, we currently have to manually add new accounts that provide access to editing privileges. I do hope that many of you will be keen enough to allow us to set up accounts for you, so if you are, please email (via forum PM or via admin@fourthirds-user.com).

The world of wikis may well be brand new to you - but don't let that put you off; I will be posting hints and tips here to help you get used to how wikis work and so we can work together to make the FTU Wiki a great resource for everybody with our common interest

I'm wondering if there should be a page for each 4/3 and m4/3 lens where people could post sample images. And maybe some of the legacy/manual focus lenses.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

Sample images is an interesting idea, although the wiki is not so well set up for hosting such large images. Links to sample images might be better.

There are so many old lenses that it would be impossible to cover them all but I think some advice on which are the ones worth trying (either because they are good but also very affordable, or of exceptional performance, etc.) - etc.

I see your point about sample images.

Maybe add a page where people can list the legacy/manual focus lenses they've tried/use with a description of the lens and possibly pros and cons.

OK, I have created a very basic page here:

    http://fourthirds-user.com/wiki/Legacy_lenses

Now it needs to be built up

Thanks Ian. I'll try adding content from this BlackBerry.
