    Question Pre focusing

With my E30 I dedicated the af/aef button to pre focus the lens so when it had done so, all I had to do was press the shutter button without having to hold it half way down. Is there a method of doing this on the G5 please??

    Re: Pre focusing

Sure. It involves at least 3 steps:
    - custom menu page 1: make sure that the fn1 button is used for ae/ae lock
    - page 3: set ae/ae lock button to mean just AF
    - page 4: set shutter AF to off

Hopefully the OP found out by now but I just got a used G5 and I actually had the same question
