    Re: card error code

Before dumping the camera try formatting the card in the computer, not normally recommended, but in the case may work, then formatting again in camera. Worth a try.

    Re: card error code

Have you tried formatting the card in camera. Inexperienced photographer think deleting images after they have been downloaded is good enough, not so it's best to format to empty the card, always.

    New Photoshop rival

I may be mistaken but not seen anything about this on this forum.
There is a credible new rival to Photoshop, with what looks like all the features of Photoshop. It's Affinity Photo by Serif

I know how you feel, I retired 4-5 years ago and am on fix income. Do without other things to service the hobby.
I thought it strange Adobe didn't offer a version to run on older Mac OS systems,...
  6. Re: Trying to cope with EM1 orf, CS5 and mac 10.6

Have you tried Adobes own DNG converter? Can be downloaded free from their site.
Also upgrading The Mac operating system to the latest is free these days so no cost there.
Adobe in my view are very...

Re: Recommend lens for gh4 makeup tutorial?

The camera will come with a quite capable kit lens, unless you go for a body only option.
    I am using a G X Vario 12-35 f2.8 and a G X Vario 35-100 f2.8 lenses, they are the more expensive in the...

Re: Wacom tablets - size matters

I have a small Wacom and yes is OK and I have a 27" monitor, that's not to say I wouldn't prefer a larger one. Your biggest problem will be adapting to the rather different way a tablet works, it's...
  9. Re: How big can you print GH4 / Lumix 12-35 photos

The size is akin to a panorama so if a number of images are stitched together in Photoshop it makes a much larger file size so shouldn't be a problem.
If off one image then upsize the file, there...

    Re: Noise in Lumix cameras

Just checked out the fx28 its a bridge camera, the sensor is probably the size of you little finger nail, much much smaller than the DSLR, if the equivalent number of pixels are packed into such a...

    Re: Noise in Lumix cameras

My first reaction there is noise in both, more in the left hand image making the image slightly mushy, but looking closely it is also not sharp, I suspect from the type of unsharpness its camera...

Well the lens arrived yesterday, not been able to try it out yet but here is a shot taken in my room at home.
Not quite as sharp as I had hoped, the reviews say how sharp it is.

    Why?

Can anyone explain, why my my 7-14mm luminous lens is 114 degree field of view at the wide end when the Yamsang fisheye 7.5mm is 180 degree field of view. I would have thought being a similar focal...
  17. Re: Are you thinking about going mirrorless? Have you already traded in your DSLR?

I should think you are quite wrong in thinking m4/3 will me dropped. Yes Olympus are not dong much with 4/3 but they are along with Panasonic working hard on new models for m4/3. Here in the UK m4/3...

    Re: Infrared modified Olympus E-PL2

Purely out of interest, Lightroom can give a very convincing IR effect using the IR preset. Can't say it's as good as a converted camera but it's still dam good.

I always advise using a tripod for macro work, as light can be a problem if for no other reason than small apertures are required, due to shallow depth of field. A ring flash or a pair of matching...
