Hi

I recently aquired a used mint condition E-450. I'm not too bothered that it has no In built IS. However, I was wondering if there is an adaptor available so I can use my M4t Panasonic lenses which are stabilised [14-45 & 45-200]. What things change and what funtions are supported assuming there is such an adaptor.

Thanks

You can use 4/3 glass on m4/3, but m4/3 glass on 4/3 won't work because of shorter back flange to sensor distance (and possibly some other less important issues).
If you want similar small lenses, I think the double zoom kit (14-42 and 40-150) can be bought cheap, maybe even from one of the forum members or on evilBay.

Thanks Pavel

I suspected it wouldn't work. I will have to look for a used Pan/Leica Vario Elmar 14-50 OIS. I fear though it will be too expensive.

The E-450 has one of the better E-System sensors of its time because it's the last of the 10MP ones and so fill factor is good. And it has the same TruePic engine as the E-30, which solved the high ISO banding problem that previous generations had suffered from.

The Vario Elmar 14-50 OIS would be an ideal companion. Better still the achingly sublime PanLeica 14-150 - but that's very rare and usually rather expensive.
